his weekend, I was able to do some sewing on projects I have been wanting to make for Logan for some time. I was able to finish making my baby wrap to carry him around in and also a nursing cover. I got the instructions from this blog. I altered it a little, but the basics are there.
The cover will make nursing when we are out in public so much easier because I always have trouble with just draping a blanket over my shoulder. I tried it out at home yesterday and I think it will work well :).
The baby wrap, I have been excited about trying for so long! I researched different baby carriers and wraps while I was pregnant and decided this was the kind that I wanted to use. It is supposed to be one of the more comfortable styles. It's made out of jersey knit and a panel of regular fabric in the middle for extra support. It is basically a looooong strip that you wrap around your body in a certain way and then there are many different ways to put the baby in it. I decided to just make it because I could make it easily for half the price of buying it online.

How I did it:
-4 yards of jersey knit fabric cut down the middle so I had two really long strips
-4 yards ended up not being enough so I added 1 yard of regular cotton fabric in the middle
-I just had to sew the two fabrics together because the knit doesn't unravel
-If you want just one piece of fabric with no sewing, I would suggest at least 5 yards to have enough to do the wrapping
I put Logan in it for the first time today in the newborn hold and as soon as I got him situated in it, he fell right asleep!! I think he likes it and it will be well worth it! I think it will help me with being able to hold Logan while I chase Roman around :).
